Product Description:

The 4-Pin Photosensitive Sensor Module is designed to detect light intensity and control electronic devices based on ambient light levels. This module utilizes a light-dependent resistor (LDR) to sense light and provide a corresponding output signal. It is ideal for a variety of applications including automatic lighting control, light-activated alarms, and smart home projects.

Technical Specifications:

  • Operating Voltage: 3.3V to 5V
  • Output Type: Digital and Analog
  • Sensitivity: Adjustable via onboard potentiometer
  • Sensor Type: Light-Dependent Resistor (LDR)
  • Output Current: Up to 15mA
  • Dimensions: Compact size for easy integration
  • Interface: 4-pin header (VCC, GND, DO, AO)

Pin Configuration:

  1. VCC (Pin 1): Connect to the power supply (3.3V to 5V).
  2. GND (Pin 2): Connect to ground.
  3. DO (Digital Output, Pin 3): Outputs a digital signal (HIGH or LOW) based on the light intensity threshold set by the potentiometer.
  4. AO (Analog Output, Pin 4): Outputs an analog voltage proportional to the light intensity.

Features:

  • Dual Outputs: Provides both digital and analog outputs for versatile use.
  • Adjustable Sensitivity: Onboard potentiometer allows customization of the light threshold for the digital output.
  • Wide Operating Voltage: Compatible with both 3.3V and 5V systems.
  • Compact Design: Small form factor for easy integration into various projects.
  • Easy to Interface: Standard 4-pin header for straightforward connections to microcontrollers and other devices.

Applications:

  • Automatic lighting control
  • Light-activated alarms and alerts
  • Smart home projects
  • Daylight harvesting systems
  • Ambient light sensing
  • Solar tracking systems

Usage Tips:

  1. Connecting the Module:
    • Connect the VCC pin to the power supply (3.3V or 5V).
    • Connect the GND pin to the ground of your system.
    • Connect the DO pin to a digital input on your microcontroller if you need a digital signal.
    • Connect the AO pin to an analog input on your microcontroller if you need an analog signal proportional to the light intensity.
  2. Adjusting Sensitivity:
    • Use the onboard potentiometer to adjust the sensitivity threshold for the digital output. Turn the potentiometer until the desired light threshold is reached.
  3. Reading the Output:
    • For digital output, monitor the DO pin. It will output HIGH when the light intensity is above the threshold and LOW when it is below.
    • For analog output, read the voltage on the AO pin. This voltage will vary with the light intensity, providing a more granular measurement.

The 4-Pin Photosensitive Sensor Module is a versatile and reliable component for detecting light intensity and controlling electronic devices based on ambient light levels. Its dual output options and adjustable sensitivity make it suitable for a wide range of applications in automation and smart home projects.
